New Book Release

I am so very happy to share, the release of a new book  title:

“Kentucky, Ecstatic Grassroots”!  A collection of poems which came from my own grappling against American society and experiences of love in a small town of Kentucky. Nearly one year to the day that I began writing these poems, they are now available in a collection of Ecstatic verses, presented also with photography. The challenges that fueled these words have all since passed. Now, out of the fire, comes the bread.Book cover KentuckyClick the Image to find “Kentucky” on Amazon

Like a conversation that takes place every evening, Poetry is a process that allows us to see ourselves a bit more clearly. Sometimes it is hard work, but  this kind of tiredness, which comes from spiritual effort, is extremely healthy. Whether you are reading or writing, Ecstatic Poetry aims to serve you a taste of what you already know… a deeply rooted longing to live from your soul. We all have it. Money does not drive us. The separation from our deepest, foundational desires, is why we continue with the work of life. Because we all know we can touch it. We know it is true and possible.

So as we go about our days, eating and drinking, go discover the Food that helps you taste the soul of life. Try tasting with more than the senses. Feel with the Heart.

I am excited to share this process with you– and to join in the wholesome work with You. Enjoy this new book. It has fed me well. I hope it nourishes you too.

Kentucky Spring

Spring comes through our backyards
loosing sawblades of ice.
The crows have been in our snows
telling mistruths
as slick as oil.
We’ve been listening
and boring holes of grief
into a frozen ground—
fencepost after fencepost,
until we give up this business
and walk like a beautiful horse
into a new land of roaming.
We carry love’s body
and burn it in the morning frost—
we carry winter’s work
lifting cups of coffee
with our strongest hand
that we may walk in a few short weeks
into fields of Grace.
That we may return again
to the Spring.
